AVOID BEING A HORROR STORY…
Following the manufacturer’s installation guidelines – it sounds obvious, doesn’t it?
Unfortunately, we’ve recently been made aware of a horror story that – regrettably – involved a Miro product: the Aero ceiling hood.
CRASH, BANG, WALLOP.
First things first – we’re relieved to report that no one was injured when the ceiling hood came crashing down onto the worktop.
But this highlights the very real danger of cutting corners or rushing to ‘get the job done’. Following the proper installation procedures is absolutely essential.
CAN YOU SPOT WHERE IT WENT WRONG?
We’re sure experienced appliance fitters will clock the issue straight away – we did, as soon as the photo landed in our inbox.
Still scratching your head?
Take a closer look…
Ready?

There’s no recess for the Aero ceiling hood to mount into. The Aero is designed with four adjustable legs that clamp securely onto a timber recess – that’s what holds it firmly in place.
In this case, however, no timber recess was fitted. Instead, the hood was left precariously suspended from the joists – an accident just waiting to happen.
And happen, it did.
A LESSON TO LEARN
Every day is a learning opportunity for us. We see a wide range of products installed in all sorts of property types and styles – and in most cases, fitters working with our brilliant retail partners follow the installation guidelines to the letter.
However, every so often, one slips through the net. This particular case is a textbook example of how things can go wrong – and a stark reminder of the risks involved when the correct procedures aren’t followed.
One final note: failing to follow the installation instructions not only puts people and property at risk – it can also void the product’s warranty.
So please – install it right the first time.
